"Susie-Q" was written and first recorded by Dale Hawkins in 1957. The song with James Burton on guitar would peak at #27 during the summer of that year, but would be famously covered by Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1968. This recording has been named by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as one of its "500 Songs That Shaped Rock And Roll".

james burton is one of my favorite guitarists, very unique style, and this version is definitely my favorite, this solo blows CCR's away also

I remember the Dale Hawkins version and love it. I do have the faithful version by CCR. The animation is cute too. Love all the old photos.
