Why make an anti-German video? I come here to learn language but find a hateful NAZI-type propaganda film.

The message of the video is: there were a lot of wartime atrocities but the history has overcome this and now we live in peace. Peace is possible. First in Europe. Then in the whole World.

This is the message.

It is strange that France and Britain declared war on Germany for invading Poland but did not declare war on the Soviets who invaded Poland as well, and above all France and Britain continued to support the Soviets as well as supporting them in economy.

Go question that in Germany and see how they will lock you up in prison; that is what I mean by Germany is still under occupation and its freedom minimized.

still you point it out to be anti-german. Although some facts from the Historian Heinrich von Sybel: among the 278 wars fought between 1800-1940 (!) England was in 28% participated, France in 26%, Russia in 23% and Germany/Prussia only in 8%! So Germany was the power in Europe, that between 1800-1940 fought the least wars!

BTW: you have africans telling, that nowadays they live in peace. Well, Africa is a continent which is mostly plagued by war and civil war!

As an ethnic German here in Germany, this video just rubs me the wrong way.

What is the purpose of this video? Is it to instill more guilt to the German people? I can understand the message of peace but this is done the wrong way.

I wouldn't want my future child/children to be taught this way, as Germans being taught to be guilty from generation to generation by what has been done by our ancestors. Don't get me wrong though, I am all for peace. But as a fellow German I am disgusted by this.

Im stunned how many people stand up for germany here, thanks for that. Because as a german i felt like .. you did this this and this (i know you didnt want to do this but this is how it looks like). You know as a german i had more than 6 years in the historyclass at school the WWII ... its sooooo annoying. So nobody who live right know can anything for things that happend in the past. If you want to focus on the peace NOW you should point on THAT.

In all wars there are people killed...all people start wars....In all wars there is never a good side and bad side...The most important thing is to win..after the win you can write the History as you want...

Germany and the Soviet Union never were allies, there just was a treaty of non-aggression - it didn't demand more than neutrality in case of the invasion by a third party. And ideologically the Soviet Union only reclaimed what tey lost during WW I. Germany was the real aggressor who was aware of starting a war. Their strike at 1 September initiated the war and without the Germans, the Soviet Union wouldn't have invaded Poland - at least for the time being.

If you're going to have such a strong opinion, you shouldn't obscure your facts. Germany and it's ally Russia attacked Poland at the same time in a combined effort, Germany was not the sole agressor.
