The second video featuring all of the Special Stages from the Sega Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast: Flickie's Island. This contains the last three special stages.

Special Stage 5: 0:15
Special Stage 6: 2:12
Special Stage 7: 4:20

Say what you will about the main game, but man the originality and design in these special stages reminds me of why I got into gaming in the first place. Sure, it's adding onto the special stages seen in Sonic 2, but they did a lot to vary the flow of each of the stages. It's a real shame the Saturn never got a true full 3D sonic platform/adventure title in the same spirit as the Genesis/Mega Drive originals, and even then Sonic Adventure, as good as it was, was probably the first to take the series into a different direction, one which perhaps led to where Sonic games are today. So to me these special stages are the last of the original Sonic before the series changed into what it is now. (I'm merely acknowledging the change style of the series, not making a "OMG modern is so horrible!" argument like some of you worthless idiots want to believe)

Sorry for the sound issues. I'm glad the SSF emulator can play most of my Saturn games almost flawlessly on my machine, but there's still a few hiccups here and there.

  • Hey did you now you can roll up into a ball by pressing back? You gain momentum on slopes.

  • @cjjjmj Yeah, I totally forgot about rolling. At the time I didn't think it served a purpose, but apparently so, eh?

  • i demand 3d for this game youtube!

  • @bland9876 You think the Genesis can do this bro? Look at some newer systems... And the video title...

  • @cjjjmj I do it by pressing B

  • @crocodileman94 Yep, The pc version has the genesis version of the game. on the sega saturn version graphics are smoother, there is different music, and the special stages look like this.

  • this looks different to the pc version

  • @bland9876 This is the Sega Saturn version, as stated in the title. What you have in the Mega Collection is the Sega Genesis version.

  • @bland9876 read the full name on title ¬¬

  • @bland9876 First, this not a hack of Sonic 2,though the special stages in Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn) are Sonic 2's in 3D for the most part.

Second,Sonic Mega Collection has the GENESIS version of Sonic 3D Blast. Yes,there are some differences, like the Saturn having new special stages and a completely new soundtrack. The SATURN version of 3D Blast has never been ported on to any other consoles to my knowledge. Thank you for your time.

  • @kyllian1212 Actually that is the title screen theme for sonic 3d blast saturn and pc version. Sonic generations has a remix of this
