But I don't think it has to do with race its about wealth, and Blacks just happen to have a High instance of poverty so it seems like race... and i also feel that welfare is only there for guilt, and as a weight to keep people down. At least it is on the West Coast. In OK you have to go to school in order to keep you Gov't asst. (I like that). i do know that as more Black come out of poverty more will go Right. That

in the 26 major civil rights votes after 1933, a majority of democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 percent of the votes the republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 percent of the votes LBJ, a democrat, and proven racist didnt want to sign the civil rights act. first off like rahm emmanuel, FDR didnt want to let a crisis go to waste. he saw the great depression as a way to gain more power by giving people free money(welfare). at the time it wasnt made for african americans however democrats today have use it as a tool to keep getting votes from people on welfare. not only welfare but unemployment benefits too.
