Finally! After what felt like a lifetime of bitter cold, wind, and snow, spring is coming to Kansas. :D

This was KC's first real winter (she's from Norco, California), but she took to the snow better than we expected. Now that spring is fast approaching, her finger-deep winter coat is shedding out, the grass is starting to grow again, and she's feeling frisky!

KC, registered name Kenos Pink Champagne, is a coming 10 yr old American Paint horse. And for those of you wondering, she is a solid perlino out of a buckskin tobiano mare by a buckskin overo stud.

KC is -NOT- for sale (nor will she ever be), or available for breeding.

Also, before any of you freak out:
-The T-post cap was replaced moments after filming (she thought it made a good toy, apparently)
-She wasn't kicking at me. I had the zoom on, and she knows better
-This is a temporary paddock we had to put her in due to an injury (lacerated pastern from barbed wire we didn't locate in the lower pasture) she sustained in November. Now that the snow is gone, new fencing is going up.

  • aw, she's so beautiful!

  • @Noeskan Thanks! She's a fluffy mess right now that she's shedding out. I just ordered a shedding tool to help her along since it's been super warm lately and the poor thing is sweating. The curry just isn't cutting it! XD

  • aww shes soo pretty!!

  • @DJ88hairMetal Thanks, hun! She'll be prettier when she's finished shedding. She looks like an urchin child right now. XD

  • Oh, I love what you've done with her mane! She's beautiful! :)

  • @TrekPhan Thank you! :D

  • @GalisgiaSoquili Haha, shedding time is so annoying some times. :P my girl always shed like crazy! you go and pet her one day and your hands just full of hair. I have to use a tool I got from my sister, which is really good, for like 3 hours before she looks like a horse again. And when I'm done I usually look more like a hairball than a real hairball does. ;)
