The connection between domestic violence and animal abuse is scary. Most men who abuse women also abuse their pets to threaten the women and gain control. Many women leave an abusive relationship sooner because they are worried about the animal. Some women will live in their cars until they find a pet friendly home. Other animals end up killed or in a shelter.
