Do we have to live what our charts say?

Many people have a difficult time trying to cope with the idea that we may be fated rather than free willed spirits. We do live on a planet filled with restrictions that doesn't allow for failure such our basic need for oxygen, or gravity. When someone falls off a cliff, saying "Not now gravity" we become fated as yelling it isn't going to make it shut off.
