I was on site last week doing a bake off between Citrix Xenapp 6.0 and VMWare View 5.0. Citrix did not want to lead this opportunity with Xendesktop which I agree with (you don't always need VDI), however that is why this isn't View vs Xendesktop.
In any case this video shows two iPad2s trying to run the same video, one is doing PCoIP the other is ICA.

If you are going to compare the VMware View solution with a high TCO to the Citrix XenApp solution with a low TCO you should give Citrix the benefit of using the latest version, XenApp 6.5 which raised the video bar.

This would be great if it was View 5 vs. XA 6.5, why are you comparing the new version of View against the old version of XenApp?

Thats great Gunnar, keep them comparisons coming. May I suggest a comparison between 3d aero over a 1.5 mb connection. Also a cost comparison between the client required to make aero redirect work for citrix vs vmware.

I have shot an updated video on this comparing XenDesktop to VMware View using the newest XenDesktop receiver. Please don't use this video to judge the Citrix experience. At the time this video was shot, this was the real world experience and I don't apologize for that, however technology changes and I shot an updated video to reflect that.

Because this is a real world test and I wasn't allowed to touch the XA side, only the View side. I'd like to see how XA6.5 and VV5.0 compare myself, but I only have one iPad in my lab.
