  • Classic LA Noir music

  • Well, folks . . . we shouldn't forget the Putrid American Past . . . The Artist in Benny Carter saw the beauty inherent in this stretch of coastline . . . even though HE wouldn't have been allowed to own a piece of it, or even rent there!

Better listen to this great music while you can . . . before the Tea Party Loonies get power

    and ban it!

  • In the top 25 recordings of all time! Nobody was better than Benny.

  • Well, folks . . . pretty, pretty melody . . . in a masterful arrangement . . . equal to any of Duke/Strays . . . but Carter never got the public recognition Duke enjoyed . . . Benny was never invited to the Nixon White House . . . oh well---have to give the old scoundrel from Yorba Linda credit for SOMETHING positive.

  • used to listen to this over and again. Heartbreak melancholy music. The magic of soulfull lament. Thanks for posting this

  • A gem. Great post. Really sublime!!!

  • Haunting number. Would make great theme music for something set in 40's LA.
