After the recent rampage by a Muslim army psychiatrist at the Fort Hood base in the U.S., a huge debate has erupted on the role of Muslims in the military. A new poll has revealed that one in three Americans are calling for Muslims to be barred from the U.S. army. But one former Air Force serviceman is trying to bridge the cultural gap with his high flying Islamic rap group.

  • Bleh. Im a Muslim revert of 4 years. I served a Combat tour in Iraq never once thought of Truning my weapon on any American At all. In fact most of them were interested about Islam and wanted to learn. So I taught some of them Anyway I served next to atheist Christians Pagans and even Stanist the Goal was to come home and we made sure we did it.

  • The problem is really not muslims in the US military. It's a problem of politics, not religion. During WWII, people who has japanese origins and served in the army (and during the battle against Japan) were not trusted neither, but turned out to be loyal to USA. This shows humanity always needs a "black sheep." One day it's jews, another day it's muslims, or christians, or Americans, or arabs... Hopefully one day people will wake up and realize how stupid they are. This should stop.

    Quran 2:191

And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers.

So, if you met me, am atheist, you would kill me? Because that's what your God-written book commands you to do.

So you are basicly saying that one muslim can never harm another muslim? Do you realize what you implicate? That being a muslim is a free pass to do anything you want. I don't agree with the war in Iraq or Afghanistan, but if the guy you are responding to shot someone who was trying to blow him up, than it does not matter if that guy was a muslim or not. What you say implicates that any muslims can do what he wants without expecting any judgement from fellow muslims.

  • Hello, I was wondering if someone can point out to me any websites that can help me in researching Islam in the military. While not associated with the religion, both of my parents served in the Air force, and I am a big believer in the idea that diversity is what makes our Armed Forces as strong as it currently is. t

    hank you for your time.

  • @ranel63 Thank you. Your comment was real touching. just one thing though. with the interconnectedness of the world today, islamist extremism does spread in western countries. In ww2, the only japanese that hated the us were those that were raised in japan. i try hard not to generalize, but there are people within our countries who have grown to hate the people of the country they were raised in.

  • @Gordon5911 im a revert for almost two months ..and im thinking of joining the military which branch are u in???
