  • Wait, you're just allowed to touch the books like that? I would have thought you'd at least have to wear gloves...

Also, those books are gorgeous. I wish I could have the chance to see them one day. You're a very lucky man, Brady.

  • @CrakenX turns out there are two schools of thought about handling books with gloves, and this librarian is from the bare hands school... must say I did feel very lucky being so close to those books... high geek rating!

Couldn't resist having a thumb through Copernicus (with permission of course!)

How great that they are public and not locked away in some private collection...

  • first to thumb up the second comment. Awesome vid btw! seems you're in full on production mode as of late, and its all good!

  • @jeebersjumpincryst yes there is lots going on!

  • a death mask? that's a bit morbid.

  • @defect530 perhaps... certainly shows that paintings of him were quite accurate... also makes me think he looked a bit like the actor Robin Williams!

  • what the track name?

  • Brady, did you smell (one of) the books?

  • What's the song called?

  • I'd like to see Charles Darwin's house!

  • I think I just had a multiple nerdgasm... So cool!

  • A collection of the products of the most brilliant minds in the history of the world. Nice video.

Please don't touch those treasures with your bare hands please.

  • Great video. These books are true treasures. I'm surprised they're not in some kind of sterilized innert environment, and that gloves aren't required when handling them. Imagine seeing these books 500 years from now.

I particularly liked the Johannes Kepler book, "Harmonice mundi". The idea of representing the planets in a kind of musical notation is marvellous.

  • I can't believe how well preserved these books are! I have books that are in a way worse shape than these are.
