My biggest KD edit yet!

I spent over 2 days working on this one with the help of water, coffee, Christmas cookies, and my devotion to working hours on stuff that mean something to me.

I completely redesigned the cheerleaders from head to toe including my personal girls Robyn, Ayame, and Matilda. I also added Bergum, another "cheerleader" if you want to call him that... I put him in specifically to disturb my friend.

This project had a great combination of fun and pain but overall it was worth it.

I primarily had trouble with the cheerleader body. The image of the body only allowed me to use black, white, dark red, and pink for the body but my personal design of the cheerleader has a more elaborate coloring method that the cheerleader palettes just wouldn't provide me.

To sort of get around that I chose a design that had the cheerleader's upper body on the bitmap image used as a "head" so I could stay with my elaborate coloring scheme for the upper torso at least.

The arms, skirt, and legs had to suffer the wrath of massive quality reduction. It's hard to make a stylish sprite with just 3 colors and black as an outline.

At the beginning of this video I stop on Ayame for an extended few seconds. This is my original design not altered by the body images quality reduction. (minus the pom pons)

I also made a quick edit to the pom pons to fit the new size of the girls. Even this was an issue. Just the position of the pom pons changed the appearance of the girl slightly. In the end I decided the girl would throw her pom pons in the air if her team got first place. Like this, the girls in 2nd-4th place are actually holding their pom pons now so it wasn't a bad sacrifice.

I changed pom pon colors to give them some detail but for whatever reason the blue, yellow, and green pom pons never showed up while I was recording.

After my design was complete I thought it best to make each cheerleader more unique by changing the collar of their uniforms to a color representing them best to compensate for the limited colors I had to use on their lower bodies.

Despite that limitation they turned out very well. I'm happy with the results.

There isn't too much fighting in this one but you can watch me get cyclone kicked off a platform, watch me "dance" outside the Disco Almanac, then watch me watch a computer opponent kill himself. XD

I also made some edits to the victory, and ending screens so be sure to check those out too!

  • If you replace your current face.bmp with 920kun's be sure to backup any custom heads you have on your current face.bmp.

  • I use 920kun's face image because it provides more colors than the face image that comes with the regular KD version.

I implemented this image to work with other images such as the cheerleaders in this video.

And I'm not just going to tell you that! You can go to my profile to grab his material.

Download from the tinyurl link at the far bottom of my profile description. Get the Kunioryu KD Battle Edition and it will have a face.bmp that accepts more colors.

  • how could you design the facs like this like i cant put blue colour on the face of any charcter please help

  • I found some of them on the Internet over the last few years.

Some of the songs I pulled from Nekketsu games I own.

  • Where are you finding the custom KD BGM?
