Ronald McDonald has moved out of town SONG

McDonald's, Oxfam and that lapdancing club in Dovecot St have all shut. Oxfam can't make enough profit, McDonald's had a roof dispute and maybe the lapdancers relied on the carpet salesmen in the old Georgian Methodist church whose roof collapsed last winter with the weight of snow. The only time I went in the lapdancing club was when it was the scout house back in the 80s. We made origami ashtrays. Other closed businesses in the last few years: Currys, Clinkards, Pizzaland, Dressers, Stead and Simpson, Lockwoods, Red Cat, Leslie Brown, Mothercare, Co-op, Kwiksave, Burtons, Snappy Snaps, Dunns, Poundstretcher, The Castle & Anchor, Fitzie's, The Falchion, the Evening Gazette, the Swallow Hotel, the Cannon Cinema

Internacionale will shortly be reopening as a Dawson & Sanderson travel agents, which is a bit of good news. Unfortunately Teesside Airport will probably be closing soon, which may affect their business somewhat.

That shop next door to the smaller barnicles on the cobbled street is now a male clothing store, Tin Pan i think, but how long that stays there idk, I only noticed that today =)

@meredumais lol, wouldn't know how either, I've noiticed though they (the big M) always seem to grab really nice old buildings in the old part of a city, they're obviously trying to attain a respectable aura; I must admit, as a kid those hot apple pies were 5 star cuisine for me :)

I think they're here to stay...apart from this particular town featured in the vid :-/

any tips as to how i might embark upon ousting that freak of nature from my town, mr. scum? wouldn't know where to begin...our main (quaintly one-arched) mickey d's is so ancient by american standards that i think it may even be one of those protected national architectural 'treasures'. i do know some draconian building code safety experts...surely they could pinpoint a flagrant flaw or fifty? ronald's permanent eviction would be a dream come true for many here...
