Oh and you're a Pisces too, and our birhday-suns are in conjunction, no more than three days apart, perhpas this is part of what makes me go through all your videos (close to the finish ATM) !!!
Anyway, Brother DSR (from Wien, around the corner here) with this gratefulness approach seems to be an interesting way of putting San Juan de la Cruz's "loving gaze" or otherwise simply a quiet "faith" - which, BTW, appears also to be te centerpiece of Bernadette Robert's simple yet profound path.

A belated happy birthday to you!

I would like to see the same courtesy given to Bruno which Galileo received from the church. That would seem little enough since Bruno was burned alive and Galileo [a tired sick old man] was only forced to endure house arrest during his last years.
As I said, I know you are in no way responsible for what I consider the unforgivable arrogance of the official Vatican position concerning Bruno's torture and murder.
Sorry I sound so angry about this.

Happy Birthday sir

Happy Birthday :D
Congratulations! You look fantastic. Monastic life seems to agree with you.
I just made a secular pilgrimage to Rome for the 410th anniversary of the auto da fe of Giordano Bruno (don't know if you can use that term for a burning at the stake that wasn't done in Spain or Portugal)...Do you find it odd that the Catholic church has never given a TRUE apology for the savage burning of Bruno on 17 February 1600?
Answer my question if you feel like it. I know your response would be your opinion.

@2bsirius: What would a "true" apology for Giordano Bruno's burning sound like? John Paul II made some gestures in the right direction. But would an apology truly compensate for that and other abuses? Power corrupts, & insofar as the Catholic Church (my faith community) clings to power, corruption will happen. Corruptio optimi pessima: the corruption of the good is the worst kind of corruption. But I believe in the Holy Spirit, "our true Mother" as St. Ephrem said. She brings the new creation.
