To say, Joel Osteen has brought more people closer to God is absurd. Only God knows who's saved and who isn't. Osteen preaches a social gospel; on Larry King he said Jesus is not the only way to God. Whatever god Osteen brings people closer to is certainly not the God of the Bible. Swaggart is Biblically sound; Jesus said it would be offensive to those who are perishing.

Joel Osteen may never have said anything bad about anyone.

If that's supposed to mean he's a good and righteous man and faithful teacher of the gospel, then he's got Jesus beat. Jesus called the Pharisees "white washed sepulchres," "dung heaps" and children of their father the Devil. Sorry, but I'll take Jesus over Osteen any day.
