Al Jazeera's Paul Allen reports on three former East Timorese soldiers arrested in Indonesia that are to be extradited to Dili in the next few days. They are suspected of involvement in assassination attempts on East Timor's President and Prime Minister. The country's leadership has had a tenuous relationship with its military. In 2006, nearly half the army shed their uniforms sending the country spiralling into civil unrest.

  • change is always difficult, now that timor timur is independent, chaos rules within the country it self, without peace keeping force and international aid who knows what could have become of this tiny nation. the people of the country need to realize that there is much to be done. quarrel among self simply hinders your progress to be an advance nation by another 10 to 20 years. first the people of the nation vote to be independent, now it is achieved i wonder what else do they want

  • Nice to see this story covered.
