This video was shot in a small village in southern Ethiopia traditionally dedicated to creating earthen works, such as the ubiquitous clay cooking discs mitads.
The man dropping the disc is the head of the local co-op, and is effectively the village leader in business matters. He, like everyone else, has never seen the Mighty Mitad band in action. For reference the broken mitad in the background was set on edge, fell once, and broke into half-a dozen pieces on the first impact.
The reactions that follow tell the story of how impactful this product will be if and when it starts to be sold en masse.
