  • thanks for the correction! I guess I just used the term 'gamelan' as a generic term for this kind of music.

  • bc bungai kuntau mimit...

  • Landik mai cda iya betaboh....

  • Nadae iya nemu utae, chak!!iyo ukae urakng kitae.hahaha

  • we Dayak from Kalimantan Barat do not use the word gamelan too.very rare.we use Taboh or Malu Kulintang.gamelan are still javanese word for the small gongs while borneo itself seldom use the word gamelan, but kulintangan or engkeromong.

  • Hey.."Tabuh" is a Javanese word that means when you hit a "gamelan music" or "playing the gamelan". It is also called "talu". Therefore in the Indonesioan context this kind of Music that has gongs and metalophone is called by its generic name "Gamelan". There is Javanese gamelan, Balinese Gamelan, Sundanese Gamelan, then this is an "Iban" type gamelan. The Iban also live in Kalimantan of Indonesia, therefore their music is called by its generic Indonesian name "gamelan"

  • Iban people also live in Kalimantan. Since they are part of Indonesia, therefore this kind of Music whether Balinese type, Sundanese type, or Iban type is called gamelan. The Javanese has the word "tabuh" and "talu" which means playing the gamelan orchestra.

  • i just wan to make sure is Tabuh or Engkeromong thank you :)

  • it's not gamelan lah. TABUH how we call it. generic term? come on, it's two different thg. how would u feel if we generalize your culture with somethg else which is much more diff? anyways, thx for uploading it. :)
