It's amazing how far in between takes. There's a point there from 1:09 to 1:40 where it's one long take, the one where he kicks the jug up into the air. I wonder how many times he had to shoot these scenes to get them right. Then again, we are talking about Gene so it probably wasn't many takes by the time rehearsals were done. I'm thinking, Gene would not stop practicing his moves until he could do perfectly. This also makes sense when I think about how I've never found an outtake on Gene Kelly

What happened to Sharon McManus? She did a few more movies as a child actress, but surely could have been an adult star - apparently not, however. The web seems to lose track of her after about 1951.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this scene!! It's so sweet and cute!! I would give anything to be that little girl... :) She looks like she's having so much fun! Also, anyone else amazed by how Gene Kelly is constantly whipping his hat on and off and yet NEVER manages to mess up his hair??
