  • @tryithere Creepy Dave must be the one behind the window...

  • @gymnastix He said this was ON the day after he was born, not POSTED. This video aired in 1994.

  • @bms201 You are only four years old?

  • Which one is actually Creepy Dave? It's kind of like how many licks to the center of a tootsie pop, no one knows.

  • @gymnastix Dave and paul looked pretty much the same from the 80 up well into the 90s

  • Actually, I now see the date of this actual episode of "Late Show" is 5-20-1994, so 15 years ago. Naturally, a person's appearance may change a lot in a decade and a half!

  • By the way, you may now obtain those earliest episodes of "NBC's Saturday Night"/"Saturday Night Live" again on home video (DVD).

But if you just wish to see Paul Shaffer with more hair, and one of the Gilda Radner/"Candy Slice" sketches to which I referred, you may also check out the "Gilda Live!" DVD.

That's not the one with Radner/"Slice" doing her armpit hair-comb ( I still need to research for the specific episode of that one). But it's a good, overall look at Radner, and with Shaffer.

  • But Radner's wishes, that her premature passing stand for something positive, have been continued by her husband, actor-director Gene Wilder, establishing "Gilda's House" for other ovarian cancer patients.

Tangential trip down "Memory Lane" aside, as noted by your comparison of Shaffer's appearance in this video, the "Late Show" band leader has now allowed his hairline to "fully recede."

  • It was an absolutely hysterical bit of comedy, and contributed to making Radner among the funniest and most outlandish of all the "SNL" players.

It was so sad, almost tragic Radner died so young from ovarian cancer. Many people thought she would become the next Lucille Ball, Imogene Coca or Carol Burnett, a true clown princess of TV comedy!
