@1977mrcheese fundamentals of a good swing: practice your swing without a ball, high hands at the top of your wind up while maintaining a steady head (no energy used to wind up!), pause, high hands at the finish. everything else in between is a reaction and is very much out of your control. you can't control your car very well at 100+ mph, so why should you think it's any easier to control a golf club at those speeds? you CANNOT automate a swing and still swing fast. it's impossible.

If this swing is not orthodox then I want an unorthodox swing. Fundamentals are obviously important but fitted into your own style IMO.

Also notice this: You probably know Couples is still really, really long--but he's hitting 7-iron from 164, "a little down the hill." Not a monster 8 or a nuclear-killer-torque-up-on-it-and-hood-the-face 9-iron, but a comfortable 7--from a guy who can still hit it well over 300 from the tee. Not that there's any shortage of speed in that swing--just listen to it...

Getting INSANELY PSYCHOTICALLY hostile for NO REASON whatsoever at random comments on YT, is that all you hope for in life? What you just did was insane whether you realize it or not. You need help man. If you listen to Insane Clown Posse and Marilyn Manson on a daily and idolize Charles Manson, you need to stop. Maybe get some new sane rational friends while you're at it.
