SOMEWHERE in the shots of WAVES marching in the background, my mother was marching with her company in their wool winter uniforms during a New York summer. They had to march for shot after shot until the people from Hollywood were finally happy. This was in addition to all the OTHER marching the WAVE "boots" had to do as part of their basic training. As a reward, they were given an extra day of liberty in New York City.
