This video explores morality's place in aesthetics through the writings of Immanuel Kant and G.W.F. Hegel. It uses an installation from Toronto's Nuit Blanche 2008 and Hieronymus Bosch's "The Last Judgment" to exemplify Hegel's criticism of Kant's attempt at unifying man's brutal self-consciousness and the universal will and law, and especially making this unification the aim of art, instead of examining and representing the constant dialectic of the two.
