@davidthe1 Really dry wood in small pieces, the right kind of wood and wich one depends on where you live and what grows there. Those are the key things in opens fires inside tents, tipis, woodshelters and so on. And the right structure of the shelter is important to have correct airflow to bring smoke and gas out, I am no expert in this but the simple explanation is you have to create a draft från the door to the top so the smoke is forced out

@davidthe1 If you do it wrong, yes. But people all over the world have open fires inside their shelters and homes and it works fine.

Why doesn't it catch the shelter on fire and turn you into a crispy critter? Is the fire dead out when you go to sleep?

@SSanf if there is more than one of you,you can maintain a fire watch,only one person sleeps,the other tends the fire,then every two hrs or so change over..
