The Longest Climb

The Longest Climb is the trailer film for the book of the same title. It records the efforts of the British EVERESTMAX team who in 2006 succeeded in perhaps the last great overland quest. Over six months they became the first team to journey from the lowest point on Earth to the highest. Their eventual triumph was despite one of the worst years on Everest in which 11 people died.

I have just finished the book. A truly remarkable read chronicling a fantastic feat. I was particularly moved by Dominic’s account of the number of deaths that he writes about during the final accent to the summit and how it affected him despite the success of their own team. Highly recommended.
