  • No, like its successor the Edison Dimond disc, the floating reprodicer on cylinder machines do not need to be changed.

  • True, but either the record is very badly worn out and/or your diamond stylus needs replacing. You should probably have the reproducer rebuilt as well. BTW, great rendition on this recording.

  • Yes, sorry.  They last a very long time, but not forever.

  • I actually bought the edison blue amberol dixie medley by Fred Van Epps. Even though the model H reproducer on my edison standard model D was not origionally intended to play blue amberols it still does a good job.

  • I had mine rebuilt and it sounds awesome! The Diamond C with new gaskets and original diaphragm...sounds great. Yours may just need the cylinder reamed.
