I am a proud Texan and Southerner. God bless the South and y'all Southerners who love their heritage.

LYRICS:

1. Away from Mississippi's vale,
With my ol' hat there for a sail,
I crossed upon a cotton bale,
To the Rose of Alabamy.

CHORUS:
Oh brown Rosie, Rose of Alabamy.
The sweet tobacco posey is the Rose of Alabamy.

2. The river rose; the cricket sang,
The lightnin' bug he flashed his wing,
And like a rope my arms I fling,
'Round Rose of Alabamy.

CHORUS

3. So fare thee well Eliza Jane,
And fare thee well you belles of fame,
For all your charms are put to shame,
By the Rose of Alabamy

CHORUS

  • I'm from Ga for those who think the war is over bring your Yankee ass down to tifton

  • @dolgorukas the south fought for states rights and for trade. The north thought it would be a good idea to cheat the south and raise taxes just so they could keep there industries. Plus the north didn't get rid of slave in all states just the ones in rebellion. And that is what the south fought for.

  • This song is about a black boy in love with his brown rosie girl back home.

  • I'm in Australia, I studied history and I think the South go shafted. The courage, spirit and just plain F.U. attitude of the Southern Rebels strikes a cord in all free men.

  • One of my favorite regiments is the 15th Alabama who fought from the Valley campaign all through to Appomattox and fought in many major battles, the most famous was the attack on little round top at Gettysburg fighting against the 20th Maine at the time commanded by William C. Oates who lost his brother attacking the hill but lead his men bravely. Oates was later wounded at Petersburg and lost his right arm but lived and was a brigadier general in the Spanish American War.

  • @RebelSoldat1 Stars and Bars or the battle flag of the Army of Nothern Virginia?

I'm just curious because Stars and Bars isn't widely used. More often I'd see the Blood Stained Banner over Stars and Bars as far as official Confederate Flags are concerned though the battle flag of the Army of Northen Virginia is by far the most common.

  • @cook87844 Ok, but can you supply me with some arms and munitions. NYS is a bit fickle with my Second Amendment right.

  • @CommanderKiv Oh yeah I forgot to specify it was a British Documentary.

  • @brickarmsboy1 YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAWWW!!!

    :D

  • @snakemanmike Actually I think the picture came from a satirical documentary called "CSA: The Confederate States of America." It was supposed to show what the world would be like if the South won the war, Though I found it entertaining, I disapproved the fact that they portrayed southerners as racist. Anyway don't blame Zeus for it, He didn't make the photo.

  • i bet you're not a marine

  • good song but can we all get along and stop acting like little kid
