  • Searched for a remix of the Contra theme song, found this instead....

  • @mangaas The number of people who wind up at contra dance looking for contra the videogame and vice versa is a lot. I actually wrote a contra dance that incorporates the Konami Code. Hasn't been danced yet, but one day.

  • The token black person in the video appears to be having a very good time with this, but a room full of white people mocking ethnic stereotypes is questionable and could be scary to those who don't understand contra culture. Of course, people in the 'hood would NEVER make fun of folk dancers, would they? I'm sure they totally respect us.

  • Cool this looks like a fun dance routine to learn

  • Im thinking of calling the ACLU. Look, I love contra dancing but I can honestly say that this is so offensive to me that it makes me want to throw up. I can not believe that this level of ignorance and blatant disrespect for other cultures. If the tables were turned and this were an all black (except one token white guy) club and they were making fun of square dancing and talking like stereo typical "red necks" people would be up in arms about it. Let stop the ignorance people.

  • holllllaaa!

  • HELLO? Berea college was one of the *first* integrated colleges in America. Fredrick Douglas was on the Board. You may find bits to pick at, but be aware that race relations in KY began at Berea.

  • Lighten up people. don't let PC ruin your day! We have each been copying each other and other cultures forever. and we always will.

  • (This dance sequence is an adaptation of "Monday Night in Ballard" by Mike Richardson.)

  • oh, right, I forgot.

if someone else acts wrong, it's a full license to do likewise.

    I must've forgotten.

fyi, I've been playing for, and dancing, contra since c. 1974.
