    Sort of. The Crusade is kinda generic, though it is some way catchy in some parts. Shogun features complex textures and deep songwriting. It depends from personal tastes, but technically, Shogun is a moder masterpiece of metal music, and i usually refer to it as the new Master of puppets.

    I love Trivium and The Agonist too; anyway, you can't talk about thrash or melodeath about them, so i agree with you on this

    @Kalfitegrdan and third: i dont want to get into a genre war, this scene already suffers to much of that. If listening to trivium makes your head hurt than dont listen to them, simple as that. But they are anything but generic or basic. Does the song Shogun have a basic metalcore/generic thrash sound? but go and listen to whatever you consider "metal"

    @Kalfitegrdan first off i see you replied to an old comment, got nothing better to do?, second: i wouldnt say songs like Anthem, and sadness will sear, kiristute gomen, igniton, down from the sky, etc. are generic. if they are then megadeths 80's albums are generic as hell(which is BS)

    Both those albums just took the basic metalcore formula and iinserted basic and generic thrash riffs into it. Calling those thrash would be like calling The Agonist melo death. Also, I'm sure my head would hurt after sitting through two Trivium albums.
