In September, 2006, a team of physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and laymen and women from Scottsdale Bible Church, in Scottsdale, Arizona, traveled to the small Masaai village of Mairoa, in Tanzania. While there, they provided medical care and treatment for more than 800 Masaai men, women, and children many of whom had walked many days to receive medical attention. The group, part of an on-going program of support for the village, also provided food, medicines, and other essentials to the Masaai people of Mairoa, Tanzania.
Photos were taken by Jill Gilbreath.
The music is a short "loop" clipped from a song entitled "Smooth Africa" by Hugh Masekela, an exceptional African jazz musician.

They've been back to that village again since the trip pictured here. And in September they'll return again. They have also provided a fresh water well for the village. Previously the women of the village had to walk about 5 miles to obtain water. This group has made a significant improvement to the lives of those living in the area, and are welcomed back as friends each time they return.
