The stand is fused from crushed Martinellis Apple Juice bottles. The platter is fused from shards of clear Bullseye art glass and a base of Aqua Blue Tint, White Streaky glass. The piece explores ways to use stainless steel to shape glass while it is being slumped. The base is slumped through a stainless steel puppet string contraption. The platter is slumped over a combination of a drop ring and stainless steel spoons. Firing schedules in the video are a rough approximation. If I change the distance of the piece from the kiln elements or the thickness of the kiln shelf then the firing time is different. Firing schedules are based on Bullseye Glass Co. recommendations in their "Tech Notes 4: heat and glass" article.

Thanks to koderunner for the Syncopation song played on his kanun.

  • Is the kiln gas or electric?

  • @xaaps2010 It's a Paragon Janice 27 electric kiln.
