Ben Browder was a guest on the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn on June 14, 2001. He talks about Farscape, living in Australia, things he misses about living in the US, playing football in college and more.

NEW FARSCAPE! Farscape web-series coming to Scifi.com in 2008, check out http://www.scifi.com/farscape/ for details.

  • Since when was Farscape the number one show on Sci Fi? Stargate SG1 dominated that channel for its first seven seasons then was beaten by Battlestar Galactica. And after that, Battlestar and Atlantis competed for the number one spot.

Farscape, like Andromeda, never really made it all that big.

  • Farscape was Scifi's #1 show for three years prior to the channel picking up Stargate and it recieved a lot of press and critical praise at the time.

  • And just to add, Scifi bought SG-1 after it was cancelled on Showtime in season 4 (I think). It only aired SG-1 from S5 onwards.

  • Seriously, I'm glad he's gone from TV now. Kilborn is such an ass. The 2004 version with Ferguson is much better.

  • How did it go from #1 to cancelled?!?! I loved the show and was so happy when the 4 hour miniseries came out. I literally watch it whenever I have extra time, I have it on tivo. It was one of the most amazing shows on tv and Claudia and Ben had great chemestry together. Is there really going to be 10 webisodes made and if they do good will they be picked up for another series? THX for sharing!

  • @squeakytoad Farscape was better than Andromeda by an order of magnitude. Stargate SG1 wasn't bad but it was at times very dull and infuriatingly repetitive ditto Atlantis. BSG was a masterpiece. The only one that will not stand the test of time very well is Andromeda. Stargate is a franchise and so I'm cynical of it's overall quality. Farscape was very unique, creative, well written and brilliantly acted. It may not have gotten the best overall ratings because of its weirdness quotient,so what?

  • Unfortunately Farscape was cancelled not because of it's ratings, but because it was ultra expensive to produce.

It was always envisioned that Farscape was to be Sci-Fi channels jewel in the crown, which it was, until the bean counters decided otherwise.

What a shame! Some have likened it's premature cancellation to the cancellation of the original Star Trek. I would agree.

  • What's up with Sci- Fi AKA SyFy canceling all the awesome shows?! There is a budget for shitty little B movies but none to conclude SG.U? What the frak!!!

  • Farscape RUUUUULES

  • This host is such a douche. Ben, however, is awesome as ever.

  • Oh, how I miss Craig Kilborn. It's not the popular opinion, ask me if I care, I just loved him. And Ben...sexy, funny, and holy buckets, that voice. He could read a phone book aloud and I'd listen. Hm. Two boys I love in one place. Ah, happiness.

  • Wow. This guy is boring. If it weren't for Ben, I couldn't sit through it.

  • i dont like the host.according to ben-he is the best

  • And it was STILL their no. 1 show when it was canceled (at least that's what I kept reading when all of the drama unfolded).
