@kasyapa ---Well, kasy, Volodya for sure and N's Liszt St. Francis Walking one of the great recordings of all time but N's uberresonance can make my ears feel a little fuzzy after awhile. Seems like there are quite a few contenders for the #2 slot.

jghancockjr - the two greatest pianists ever.

No way! If I may ask, where did you find the recording?

Amazing! Pirate ahoy! Thank's matey, whoever ye may be sailing on that great pirate ship in the sky by now! Arrrgh! BTW: Was this photo taken by the same photographer who did the famous one of Einstein sticking out his tongue?

This image is more in character with Nyiergyhazi masquerading in an inebriated moment as Horowitz.

The beginning sounds kind of like the theme music in Disney's Alladin. ("Arabian nights...")
-
The sheer power of his playing.......*shudders*

yes, they had them - either with or without the connivance of the hall people. you can tell it's from audience because of the close-up sounds of applause, talking, etc.
