GREAT movie - WAIT we are in the future dont they have birth control and vasectomy's they can travel at the speed of light , time dilation ect ect but we have to go HOMO because of over population. large plot flaw some dude smoking a doob might buy it . ridley scott is a great director

@why760nitro I know lol that part was there just to make a point, but it was pretty silly as far as the sci part of fi goes. Ridley has expressed interest in doing "harder" science fiction. I guess he wants the Alien prequels to be closer to 2001 than Aliens. The Mass Effect movie has me pretty exited too; hope they can get Blomkamp for that one !

i just got the Omnibus edition which includes:forever war,forever free and forever peace

All three are absolutely amazing books and fit perfectly.

For it to be such an old story the ideas and science in this books still blow you away and are more believable than the drivel being wrote today .

@admiralamadras he is also making prometheus: the prequel to alien which is lining up to be really cool and may raise the bar again for scifi story telling in film scott is one of my favorite directors. he knows how to make movies correctly

Pretty funny...I think that the media's misconception of homosexuality is way off mark. Many polls suggest that only 4-6% of people are gay...yet every fricking sit-com or "reality" show has some queer. Haldeman's future of population control - okay fine...but population isn't really a concern. Check out the facts of pop growth here in the US. What is concerning to me is that homosexuality should be simply considered normal...which it's not. Do whatever in your bedroom, it's none of my business.

so many things I could say, was a great read. I think this book did more to my sense of time than anything else I've encountered. Something to try: after reading Forever War, watch Voices from a Distant Star, a short anime film from a few years back. Just an experiment I'd like to see other people try.

Just finished reading this book on suggested from a friend. I highly recommend it as well.
