Jack Kerouac - (Johnny Depp)

I'm a huge Kerouac and Ginsberg fan.
I think this was pretty cool. I understand why people would think that Depp is "Tainting" Kerouacs work.However, I don't agree. I think he did a great job at reading this, it was different. There is many ways that poetry and literature can be read. Also, Depp is actually of fan of the beats himself. It is understandable that he would like to pay homage to one of his heros.

Why does Depp have to taint every counter-culture figure with his celebrity? If you like Kerouac, read Kerouac. Does anyone really need pretty boy to spoon feeding it to you?

Actually you'll notice that you can see little to none of Johnny Depp's face for most of the video. The point of having him read it was that he gave the words an emphasis that just can't be read out of words on a page.
Furthermore, I don't think he was tainting Jack Kerouac. He is one of the few celebrities who is actually literate and he has definitely read some Kerouac.
