well i got one too, check out my stereo videos, i have to place some type of sound-dimming material over the microphone to get decent bass, plus this cam puts out massive wind noise from even the slightest of breezes! good music on this vid tho lol

if you're serious about recording a live show you should get something like a zoom H2 portable recorder alongside the camera and then you sync up the sound to the video in your editing software. if you take many clips in an evening that gets really complicated to organize though.

yes its a great camera but its terible when recording loud events and no light to record in the darker areas. I still like it tho coz its compact and portable.

yea i guess so but the video on this is also terrible like if you play a show and its slightly dim it wont take any footage at all, just a dark black shot with audio. but maybe i should try that way. what do you think is a decent cheap cam that takes good video? ill look into that zoom recorder though. thanks

the sound is okay. have u recorded any of ur live shows yet tho? is there a video that you can upload to show us how the sound quality came out in a live setting.
i was thinking of getting the nsc coz my camera is horrible when it comes to recording live shows.

no way i kind of wish i didnt get this cam now cos if the area is sort of dim you wont get any picture at all. the sound is super super super distorted in a live show setting. terrible cam. the only thing that is cool is put videos on your computer in a flash. i recommend using it at parties or outings and family stuff. its perfect for youtube too but never for live music. hope this helps you.
