I read his book, he was blunt and no false modesty in it. Maybe some people don't take that well. The one thing I did find difficult was his double standard in his marriages. He fooled around but flew off the handle if his wives went with someone else. Still, it was an interesting book, he made some terrible films but also some great ones. I watched Houdini and Trapeze as a kid, and they always stuck in my mind.

I met Tony Curtis in person in 1992 at an American Film Institute tribute to his work. Tony Curtis sat next to me in the audience and we had a lovely conversation after the event while we were in the lobby. He was completely charming to every single fan who asked for an autograph. My impression of that one time i met him was that he was an impeccible gentleman and uttery charming. There is not one actual, factual incident of any "horrible" behavior he did to ANYONE in this interview -

About his autobiographies, I dont think he was "crying out for attention", but admitting and getting off his chest what he had done in his life.
