  • There's no stealing. If madonna felt it was theft, then madonna would have done something. it's madonna.

  • i hear you man...it was a total waste of time to actually put a video to show the similarities...music is art and people are inspired by other people. gaga is obviously inspired by madonna hence born this way but you hit the nail on the head...who cares? lets enjoy the music.

  • @blktues09 Thanks LOL :)

  • I feel like i have to repeat myself with a lot of you, on video and on text. lol. And furthermore, to Burrito supremo, I accept the similiarites, and the taking oneself too seriously, i'm grown up enough to accept all the copying. Do what Madonna did and give lady gaga YOUR BLESSING. LOL. Madonna's mature enough to accept it. Some Madonna fans Just can't follow and agree wth madonna herself.

    stupid.

  • @jgentleman07 I wouldn't be too surprised if Madonna and her made this together. From what I understand, they are friends. I'd imagine that both their sales for each respective song would have gone up. A lot of younger people don't even know of Madonna's "version" of her own song.

  • It sounds like her so what? It's called copyright infringement. She didn't borrow a riff, so outright stole the entire song and called it hers.

This video didn't point this out. It was an observation by multiple people.

You're right tho. The world will keep spinning after this. But this no one will remember your video either.

  • Pop music isn't only "delicious candy (not so much for me these days)." It's a business, and when you infringe on copyright, you are potentially stealing someone else's income. That's the real issue here. However, Madonna has apparently given her "ok," so the issue is moot. Me, personally? Gaga is a fraud. But so was Madonna. Birds of a feather...

  • It is about stealing another artist's work. It is that simple.

  • @Aeroappyyy Being inspired by the staging and structure - and then doing your own work is fine. Swiping someone else's treack in effect without proper credits is not on.

  • Children: "Imitation is the highest form of flattery." Even classical musicians were and are notorious for borrowing, stealing, and making fun of each other through musical references. I think it's awesome that Gaga respects her elders enough to reference them in such a clever way.

  • I didn't see any Monroe fans bitch and complain when Madonna was inspired for her material girl video. But damn, maybe it's just me.
