  • I don't get why The Sensorites gets so much bile from the fanboys, it looks quite good.

  • @fjccommish How is that correct? The Sensorites aired in 1963, the Ood first appeared in 2006. The correct way to say it is the Ood were inspired by the Sensorites, because the Sensorites came first.

  • @sixstanger00 That's backwards. I wrote that the Sensorites were copied from the Ood. Your word is fine, inspired. The Ood inspired the Sensorites.

  • @fjccommish Well I'm seldom one to defend RTDs unusual flavor of Doctor Who (vs. Moffat's more classic oriented), but I think "copied" is a bit harsh. "Inspired" by the Sensorites. If you look though, there are many "copies" throughout the new series...a falcon gunnery battle and Mos Eisley cantina scene in "The End of Time" and a battle for Naboo space battle in "Victory of the Daleks." A trash compactor scene in "The Beast Below,"...I could go on.

  • @sixstanger00 I'm not disputing that. I'm saying the Sensorites were copied, in the series, from the Ood.

  • @sixstanger00 Their similarities is INTENTIONAL.

  • @fjccommish Yes, thank you I've seen the Sensorites many times, and I agree that there are similarities between the two, but look up some info on the Ood from "The Impossible Planet" (the story they were introduced) and "Planet of the Ood." From Wikipedia's article on the Ood...."...The monster book Creatures and Demons, published in 2007, elaborates that the Ood came from the "Ood Sphere", close to the "Sense Sphere" planet, home to the Sensorites....."

  • @sixstanger00 No, the Sensorites are clearly a copy of the Ood. Look at them.

  • @fjccommish RTD intended the Ood to be an offshoot of the Sensorites. In "Planet of the Ood," when the Doctor is on the Ood-Sphere, he explains to Donna that he's been in that region of space before - referring to the Oodsphere's sister planet, the Sense sphere.

  • @orbital151 No way!

  • @fjccommish LOL! It was the other was around!

  • I think they copied the Ood to make the Sensorites.

  • This looks great, a good fast pace
