The launch of Pole Folder's Reworck record label has been nothing short of impressive.

From the excitingly varied dancefloor-focused sounds the label has put out over its five releases, to its new family of up and coming producers, and the announcement of Cologne sound wizard Robert Babicz as the official head of mastering, everything Reworck has done since its birth in August 2010 has been right on the money.

Dance music had been crying out for a label to champion quality, forward-thinking, melodic house and techno, without being lumped into the progressive house genre that so many feel has lost its way in recent years.

After a poignant and successful end to 2010, Reworck today dropped its first dancefloor bombshell of the year - a powerful and hypnotic melodic house track from Marseilles DJ Amine Edge.

'Screw Down' twists with a confidence and energy that defies its enchanting deepness. Constructed beautifully around a matrix of loops, vocals, percussion, and rippling bass, it's a heavy and psychedelic house sound that kicks the gut as much as it spins the head.

Big DJ supporters include Tiger Stripes, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Djuma Sound System and Hector Romero.

With a flurry of similarly intoxicating releases planned for 2011, we sat down with Reworck's Amine Edge to find out more about 'Screw Down', his unique sound, and his studio set up.

  • nice.

  • @Biggbubby thanks buddy :)

  • really nice! i can't really hear the diff between this and the pole folder version. but i only heard the snippt from beatport :)

  • @amsterdamfrank hey mate :)... as u see, the pole folder one is namade as a REWORK and not a REMIX, but the pole folder version, so this is what i said in an interview:

And Pole Folder's remix takes the track in a different direction somewhat.

Yeah, I love the punch he gave it. Also the 8-bit sound in the background, the aggressive bassline that comes in around two minutes thirty, and at the break he added a brilliant melodic element over the top, which created an awesome atmosphere.

  • nice one :-)

  • @ArsEmpatheia cheers :)
