One of my favorites. Also check out McLuhan himself who talks about how TV change(s/d) the way people read print media.

Most people live in a nut shell, they are not even capable for critical thinking. But why to think when TV thinks for you.

Thanks for sharing. A close friend of mine, was an assistant to McLuhan. Professor Erimitus, Dr. Bob Logan, Canada. He wrote some outstanding books. Social and cultural engineering via the entertainment and educational systems conspire to entrain the individual during their development, to ensure to conform to the reality matrix of time and place. The powers to be, would not have even imagined, that the internet would organically grow, the way it does! Hopefully, we do not face control! Lisa

all media work the human consciousness, they are neither better or worse than each other, however, since most people are unaware of the effects of these mediums, the mediums work unconsciously to shape the perception of the unaware user

It's a tough call now that you can fast forward through commercials. :o/

its scientifically proven that by fast forwarding through commercials the watcher pays more attention to the content on the screen

But at that pace, would you still be susceptible to propaganda?

I know exactly what you mean. I've actually seen people (usually middle aged) so entranced by the tv, that they're literally unresponsive to external stimuli.

And I also notice most people's predilection for buying the latest "gadgets" and wonder how damaged they must be to spend so much money on things that they suddenly feel are "obselete" just a few months later.
