No wonder Ernie Borgnine is still a youthful 95! He has to be the most honest, optimistic, quick witted amazing sense of humoured human being around. He always sees the good in people and if he is frankly honest; he does it with respect. I treasure everything he says. Back in the 90's he bought a motorhome and took off across America by himself stopping when he would see a farmer working in a field just to chat for one example. Someone should compile a book of people who met Ernie in this way.

This was filmed parrtly on 140 Street in the Bronx....Bette Davis accent is the worst Irish EVER,,,,Compare it to Barry Fitsgerald accent ...he is suppose to be her brother in the film....

@koollatter One of Bette Davis' greatest movies really. I wonder why it hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves.

@Ulysses61 Or like Ernie Borgnine!

This is Bette's most unappreciated performance (well, maybe next to "Pocketful of Miracles"). Also, a young Debbie Reynolds is surprisingly effective

he even looked older aged 54 years ago, the man is a marvel, I love him

A Catered Affair was one of Bette Davis' best movies. Very underrated. And Ernest Borgnine? One of the very best.
