@ChatondeMalheur if there is a strong scent r somethine they will vreate a foamy froth in thier mouths and try to lick their back to aquire that scent

@anatheistmyself thats not true, they do this to get completely used to the smell of something, so next time they smell it they wont be scared, and they will know that its harmless.

when something smells especially weird or possibly toxic to them they will lick it and get it in their mouths then foam up and li it onto their spikes... its some sort of defense mechanism, it hides their own scent and if it were to be something toxic, none of their predators would want to eat it if it's covered in something potentially toxic... at least that's the main theory i've heard...
