My suggestion is to contact the next closest group to assist you with the basic's such as garb, persona, heraldry. Try attending an event in that group (even a small event like a tavern) so you can get some education in how to take over some of the necessary positions such as seneshal, exchequer etc. There are lots of people that are interested in assisting you who are not in the town. Check out Facebook for a few groups!

i have left a group recently due to older members being in burn out mode who refuse to put on and work shire events let alone demos to bring in new members. What would you suggest the one or two members who would like to be active do to bring in new members while being practically on their own in their efforts with little or no support from the rest of the group? In my view the shire is close to dying out as finding members to hold even the officer positions is getting difficult.
