sarmadasco - I don't think that the female couple had less drama. I feel that the video director placed more emphasis on the other 2 couples. I also believe that the film did a much better job of showing the nuance with the female couples.
I'd like to add that I first saw this in 2002 with my Dad when the show came to Richmond, VA. I was still in the closet, but this had a tremendous impact on me.
Now, if only video excited of this dance with no edits and showed all 3 in their entirety.

Was exquisite in the film, 'All That Jazz" and is more exquisitely done here. Sensual, sexual, acrobatic, in sync, the whole thing. Can picture audience seeing it for first time, though....and some men, umm, skwirming in their seats while thier wives were hypnotized by the male 'deux'! All beautiful, especially the 2 males and the 'hetero' couple. The 2 women were gorgeous, just less drama. Drama is a good thing in dance, no?
