The Republican party seems top heavy with Neo-conservatives. Actually it is dominated by NeoConservatives.

They are EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK in the Republican party!!!

  • Do you even know what neoconservativism is outside the Iraq war? It's an entire political ideology of its own, rich with nuance and variety, and has some of the smartest conservatives in it.

"Neocon" is a caricature that doesn't do justice to the real ideology.

  • keep working on physics, you don't understand politics yet

  • You are horrible at making a point. Nothing you said made any sense. There are thousands of Republicans in the Republican party but you rattle off 20 and claim that Ron Paul would be the only one left. Huh??

And are you saying there is no such thing as a Neo-Con? If so, who are they?

  • I am a right-winged Republican, but I HATE the neocons.

  • Take Afghanistan as an example: their democracy nearly brought into law a clause that would allow men of a particular sect to rape their wives. What difference is it if a dictator enforces such a law instead of it being brought into force by a democracy? And you may argue that the Taliban are no longer in power, and that that has saved the lives of many, and I would agree. But so many parts of Sharia would have people killed for so many frivolous offenses (to our minds) that it is a moot point.

  • This is the problem I have with neoconservatism: it tries to fight ideological battles with military force. Removing Saddam did not bring Western values (ultimately more important that being democracy) to Iraq because its inhabitants never had any reason to accept them, especially those who stand to lose the most (i.e. men). Islam affords men the God-given right to commit atrocities against women and to deny them basic human rights: why would giving them a democracy solve this problem?

  • " 'Smart Republicans are only a tiny fraction'

"Bill Kristol is a smart republican, as are Harvey Mansfield,John Yoo,and Paul Wolfowitz."

Granted, they are intelligent, educated people, I won't deny that. Well done on naming four such Republicans, point well made.

  • "...and has some of the smartest conservatives in it."

That's a naked argument from authority. Proponents of the Iraq war assumed it was Saddam who was the root cause of the brutality that was perpetrated in that nation, when in fact it is the faith of the people who inhabit it (Islam) that ultimately causes it. Removing dictators from nations whose inhabitants are just as willing to tolerate/commit brutality solves nothing. Democracies in such nations only lend power to these same people.

  • Well if you voted for Democrats for the last several decades you have blood on your hands. Your party is led by a bunch of morally degenerate baby killers.

    @@@

Democrats don't kill fetuses - pregnant women and their doctors do...

  • These Bushies are all arrogant and incompetent and surprisingly uninformed - just look at the failure of Bush administration.

  • "Your man in shining armor, Ron Paul, opposed impeachment. He refused to even consider it..."

Not that I exactly like Ron Paul, but no sensible individual was in favor of impeachment. A bipartisan majority of Dems and Reps both opposed it. The only people in favor of it were nuts like Conyers, Kucinich or some of the crazy moonbats on the internet.

  • "Smart Republicans are only a tiny fraction"

Bill Kristol is a smart republican, as are Harvey Mansfield,John Yoo,and Paul Wolfowitz.Kristol graduated summa cum laude from Yale in only three years and is now a professor at Harvard. As for me I consider myself to be a smart republican as well. Afterall I'm a physics major with an IQ of 156. So don't insult our intelligence. Besides after the nonsense you pulled with Obama you complete forfeit the right to use the "stupid hick" label ever again.
