Show jumping involves a course of jumps at a height specific to the division; jumps are usually artificially colored, and the event is timed. Memorize the course of a show jumping competition with help from an equestrian team head coach in this video on equestrian show preparation.
Is it normal to lean forward in the canter like that, even when anticipating jumps? That's not the "jumping position" (aka 2-point) I was taught.

I get so terrified before I go to a show because I'm so scared I wont be able to memorize the courses, or that I will forget them. I love jumping with my instructor and at home and my horse is an awsome jumper, and I have always wanted to compete in jumping, but all I have done competition wise is some small courses at open shows with very simple lines and not many fences. My fear is holding me back. Can somebody please help me get over this or give me advice on memorizing courses??
