CXO Sustainability Network brought to you by: http://www.littlefootinc.com/
Brian Fairbank, President and CEO of Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort http://www.jiminypeak.com/, discusses his company's green efforts and the benefits derived by them. Jiminy Peak's sustainability efforts have not only decreased energy costs for the mountain, but have helped the company become a symbol in the community and a spotlight that gives proof to other businesses that energy improvements are possible. The wind turbine installation has brought significant new business to the the mountain by attracting first-time skiers and snowboarders as well as bringing in more business conferences. Other topics Brian covers include the difficulty of prioritizing energy improvements, available financial incentives, power purchase agreements and other ways to finance projects. From their customized maintenance truck that runs on vegetable oil to the wind turbine, sustainability has become a part of the Jiminy Peak culture and they are proud to be leaders in the green movement.
