Mark Dantzler was a true pillar in the Los Angeles community. He was the program director of Challengers Boys & Girls Club in Los Angeles on 51st & Vermont. It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of our dear friend. He lost the fight to cancer and passed the evening of May 24th 2011 with family by his bedside. He will always be remembered because of the great memories he left behind. His service, infectious smile, values and integrity will live on forever. We miss you bro.

  • My 3 children and I are in deep shock. We left LA last year and moved to Australia but we never forgot about Mark and the role he played in our lives. What a terrible loss. This video memory is awesome. Thank you. God Bless him.

  • I can't begin to say how much I love Mark Dantzler. He was my boss, he was my friend. Mark is an inspiration and a force of nature, always willing to laugh or crack jokes and always positive! When I used to hear about the loss of a dear friend or family member, like most of us, there's a whole set of emotions; sorrow, regret, remorse and anger about the life they will miss. Now, I choose to be grateful, joyful and thankful for the life they lived. Mark walked the talk everyday.

  • My kids have been away from Challengers for some time now so I was shocked to hear about Mark's passing. Mark, like his father/brother, dedicated himself to the center and the youth of the community. Rest In Peace Mark!

  • RIP MARK HEAVEN HAS REGAINED ONE OF ITS SPECIAL ANGELS
