  • You're mistaken about that interpretation. It was Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev who said it in 1956. His full comment translates to, "Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you."

    Nearly seven years later in 1963, Khrushchev offered the following nuance: "Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you."

  • I think it was the interpretation of Russian words that led to the saying Russia wanted to bury the United States. That isn't what they said.

    I think we should ask that the 138 prisoners be freed. China isn't playing on a level field, I think asking for the release fo the prisoners would help in a small way to make the field more level. In battles the victors alway have the high ground.Are we going to let China keep their high ground position? I hink we are going to kowtow to the Chinese.
